We are proud to announce that on March 11, 2011, the Joe Sharino Band won it's 17th Best Band Award from the 2011 Metro Magazine's "Best of Silicon Valley Reader's Poll 2011"! Thank you everyone! Thanks also to Metro for these kind comments:
"Sharino is not just a repeat award hoarder; around here, he's an institution. He got his start moonlighting while a student at San Jose State in 1974, built a reputation for high-energy live shows and never missed that broadcasting degree. After almost four decades in the party-music business, if there's a song he hasn't played for the dance floor, maybe it doesn't belong there. What sets the Joe Sharino Band apart from other cover bands is charisma, lots of it. They've played weddings, corporate events, fundraisers and
festivals of every kind. And audiences have fun, dancing and singing along every second they're onstage. Their song list goes into the hundreds, ranging
from the 1940s to the present. It's like having a jukebox come to life."
The Joe Sharino Band would like to thank all 1,100 of you who attended our two "Year End" shows. New Year's Eve's Eve on December 30th was a huge success with about 700 people attending, and New Year's Eve at the Embassy Suites Monterey Bay was also a huge success with our largest crowd ever at that venue, nearly 400 people! We thank you all and Happy New Year!
Ok, on to the band's Schedule of Public Events:
The Joe Sharino Band is performing at three events in January (all private ones, sorry) and three more in February, but we have two public shows for February: "Dance and Romance II" at the beautiful Historic Del Monte Building in downtown Sunnyvale and the "Via Ball" at Villa Ragusa in Campbell. Also, due to the Dance and Romance II show selling out several weeks before the event, the band has decided to add an encore performance of that show in March. See below for all the details. We hope you can join us. And do check out our new page on Facebook and post a comment or just say “hi”:
